Batman Arkham Asylum looks absolutely awesome, I pre-ordered it as soon as it was announced, and every time they release a new trailer I get just a little bit more excited. Mark Hamill really is the best Joker ever, even if we’re never going to see him on-screen, and that alone was enough to sell me on the game, but now that I’m seeing action clips, ooh. I just can’t wait!!
We’ve finally reached the sort of processing power that cinematics are now virtually indistinguishable from gameplay, and it looks like they’re really taking advantage of that. It looks like combat is in a full 3D space, which makes me so happy, even if it totally confuses my poor 1980s L+R gaming reflexes. The texture rendering is incredibly detailed, and I just have this fetish for hyper-real texturing… It makes me all tingly in all the right places.
Texture like this? Really turns me on.
