I’ve always wanted to live in an abandoned building, an old factory or a church, tear the place down to suit my fancy, host art installations in reclaimed spaces. I have a desperate love of open indoor spaces, and I’m most happy in old buildings, even in various states of disrepair.
It seems like these poor folks have all the hassle of an abandoned building, like zombies break-ins and societal collapse lack of maintenance, with none of the fun stuff, like zombies for target practice the ability to reclaim and repurpose at will.
This whole housing collapse thing is creating some truly post-apocalyptic settings. I wonder how it will all shake out in the next decade or so. If half of suburbia turns into wasteland, maybe I’ll be able to buy my building after all.
