UPenn has come up with technology that basically makes mutable tattoos a near-future reality. It’s being developed for medical use of course, but vanity follows close on the heels of any new body modification technique, and once people accept the general concept, once there’s a large enough user-base, profiteers with large amounts of money can do amazing things… If I still lived in Phila, I’d be signing up for the human trials right now, I really would.
Oh, what I wouldn’t give to live long enough to see all the magnificent things Bradbury and Gibson and Asimov predicted come true… Well, maybe I will. Never know!
