So in the last thirty-six hours or so I’ve had three people ask me if I’ve dyed my hair green for St. Patrick’s day. One lady asked me if I was Irish, and if *that* was why I’d dyed my hair green for St. Patrick’s… I was just like, “Uh, yeah, sure.” Seriously I had no idea people looked forward to Amateur Night* that much! So today I’m dying my hair blue.
*Anyone who’s willing to drink green beer is an amateur.

On my way home from clearing out the post-Halloween clearance racks at Target, I watched a guy on a motorcycle run full speed straight into a cop car that was crossing an intersection against the light. Talk about a really bad way to end your day.
He was alright — he looked pretty shaken, but he was sitting up and talking.

So I wasn’t going to say anything more about this incident, but the violent moron from yesterday’s rant now wants an apology — from the victim.
There are all sorts of nasty, knee-jerk things I’d like to say about this, but mostly I just want to know what universe this ass lives in that he thinks he’s in the right?
“Oh, I would’ve never attempted to murder her in plain view if she hadn’t exercised her first amendment rights in a non-violent way. It’s all her fault, she started it!”
Wow. Just wow. My Republican friends, what I said yesterday now goes double.

It’s time somebody said it, the Tea Party has officially gone WAY too far. Again.
All you moderate Republicans who say, “Oh, that’s not how I feel,” YOU need to do something about it. YOU need to speak to your peers, and tell them that you will not allow them to tarnish what little good name the Republican party may have left with their violence. What happened to do unto others as you would have done unto you? At this rate, we will soon return to a life that is nasty, brutish, and short — by law.
I really do not care who you are or what you believe in, nor do I care who your opponent is or how direly you may disagree with them, this sort of behavior is not, has never been, and never will be acceptable. Period. The end.

“BP has shown that it lacks the capability to stop this massive leak, and the federal government is waiting and watching” said Miyoko Sakashita, oceans director for the Center for Biological Diversity. “The Clean Water Act provides for citizen enforcement when the polluter and government fail to act, and we intend to seek the maximum penalty possible against BP.” Consumerist
I’m rather pleased about this. Of course, it’s not the best solution, actually solving the oil spill would be the best solution, but at least someone’s stepping up and doing *something* — which is depressing, but it’s better than nothing. I’m a bit concerned this is going to turn into another Centralia.

What’s your favorite guilty comfort food?

Mine is General Foods International “Coffee” mix. Let’s just get this out of the way, it’s not coffee. Even though it contains coffee, it bears no actual resemblance to that which you might think of as coffee, as one might say, it’s a drink not quite, but almost entirely unlike coffee. Its primary ingredient is sugar, followed by non-dairy creamer.
I’m a serious coffee snob. I’m the target audience for espresso flights at miserably overpriced yuppie restaurants. There was a time when I’d order coffee fresh from my favorite east coast roaster via express mail, and when I wasn’t doing that, I’d drive an hour and a half each way every week to buy fresh beans from a local place.
…and yet I love this godawful stuff that poses as coffee. I’ve got a cup of it right now.
…yeah, I dunno either.
